GAAC Discovery Program helps you find which art or design field suits you the best. Designed for grades 7-10, students explore various art and design disciplines to discover their talents and interests. Through studio projects and individualized instruction, students will gain a deeper understanding of various visual art and design disciplines and start a journey to self-discovery.

The Discovery program is an introductory exploration of many disciplines that GAAC offers, including architecture, fashion, animation, illustration, interior design, industrial design, fine art and more. Students will have an opportunity to explore the principles of each topic they choose and complete various projects to expand their knowledge of the chosen fields while gaining creative thinking skills, research ability, basic drawing, and documenting skills. University options and career paths are further explored in the final class.

  • Available subjects for Summer & Fall 2022: Architecture, Animation (Concept Art), Fashion, Illustration

  • Class format: In-Person

  • Class hours: 5 sessions (3 hours each)

  • Start date: Students can resider for this program at any time.

Ocean Wong (He/They)

BFA, Illustration, Rhode Island School of Design

Ocean Wong is a queer non-binary artist from Hong Kong. They graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a major in Illustration. Ocean's work focuses on creating characters and stories that raise awareness of under-represented cultures. Having gone through IB Diploma and and portfolio preparation themselves, Ocean understands the expectations of higher education programs.

B.Arch / BFA, Rhode Island School of Design

Lilly Zhang holds dual degrees in Architecture and Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). Prior to joining GAAC, she worked at Arno Matis Architecture (OKU Residential Project) and 3SIX0 Architecture (Brown University NCE Building Project). In addition to experiences in the architectural design sector, she has a background in teaching, program development, and student management.
